We just came from the soup kitchen where we met an awesome group of artists from Coalition for the Homeless. They are encouraging people to make cardboard signs concerning homelessness in New York City. We have all seen these signs before but here, these signs are pieces of art! They are planning on doing a photo shoot with the signs and their creators. We are hoping to be there with our "hinky-dinky" camera, rolling away some footage, collecting interviews, and supporting this great cause. All of the photos will be posted on a website where people can make donations towards the Coalition for the Homeless where a portion of proceeds goes to Holy Apostle's Soup Kitchen. In addition, the signs will be presented in an art gallery for the public to see. What a great way to incorporate art and social justice!
We are looking forward to our third Hear the Hungry Rounds tomorrow night! We saw Steve this morning and Pablo this afternoon. They are spreading the word that we'll be meeting them tomorrow night! Woo hoo! Thank you all for all of your generous donations towards the Rounds. We have 8 loaves of bread!!! We will be set for a while with bread!
Thank you all again! Have a beautiful day!
With so much love!
HTH :o)
The cardboard art is an incredible idea. I would love to see some of them. Those signs are part of what makes New York the city that we all know. Amazing! Take lots of pictures and video recordings.
