HTH Rounds

Hey Friends!

The past two weeks have been amazing! So much has happened! We have completed two successful Tuesday night Rounds. Thanks to so many of you, we have received a number of food donations allowing us to reach out to more and more people on the streets.

Last week, we had five people attend the Rounds with us. We would like to send a special thanks to David, Cristin, Lauren, Alex, and Rachel for all of their help and enthusiasm. The guys loved seeing everyone and we had a blast! We met a few new people on the streets like Jose, who has been sleeping in Central Park, but has decided to reunite with his friend Pablo, who we visit every week! We also ran into an old friend of Rebecca's, Nat, who was sleeping outside the church we visit on 60th Street and Park Ave. Rebecca knew him from Holy Apostle's and the two haven't seen each other in almost two years! It was fate that they met again last Tuesday. He has been going through some rough times, but still continues to shine, with a smile on his face from ear to ear! Nat is such a remarkable man; he had us all smiling so hard our faces hurt when we left!

We have been gathering donations for this Tuesday's Rounds, and have collected a good amount of bread and rice. These donations are extremely helpful. Last week our supplies ran short and we had to make a run to the deli to get more bread because there were more mouths to feed. Some things that we could really benefit from are meat and vegetables, or anything that is healthy and nutritious. If you know of a person or a place that would be willing to donate these items, clothing, or toiletries, please contact us at hearthehungry.org@gmail.com. Every bit counts and goes directly to the people on the streets.

Currently, we are working on becoming a government acknowledged non-profit organization. Unfortunately, we don’t have much experience in this area and could really use some help filling out a 501(c) (3). If you guys know anyone who has experience in this department and would help us through this long process, please contact us at the email address listed above.

We have also been updating our Facebook page with some awesome pictures from the Rounds and video footage for the documentary. Check in on our Facebook page and take a look at some of our pictures. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for new events and new posts! Stop by and say hello or tell us your thoughts! We love hearing from you guys!

Off to the Soup Kitchen. Looking forward to another productive and exciting week! Can't wait for Hear the Hungry Rounds tomorrow night! Hope to see you there!

So much loveeee!
HTH ♥
